Colorado School of Mines

The Colorado School of Mines, a globally know University, is located in historic Golden, Colorado just blocks from our hotel.  The Colorado School of Mines became a state institution in 1876 and today the public research university enrolls over 6,000 students, has over 200 student organizations and 18 intercollegiate athletic team. The Colorado School of Mines features both historical buildings throughout it’s campus as well as state of the art facilities.  Often referred to as “Mines” or “CSM”, the University features annual traditions such as the “M” climb and “E-Days” (Engineering Days).

Coors Brewery Tour

We are proud to be located just blocks from the famous Coors Brewery Tour; a popular tourist destination for those visiting the City of Golden and the entire Denver Metro area.    The legacy of the Coors Brewery dates back to 1873 and visitors to the brewery are able to experience their rich history as well as a limited sampling of Coors products at the end of the tour in their Hospitality Lounge (must be 21 years of age or older and present a valid government issued ID).   The self-paced walk through tour takes approximately 30 minutes and showcases several aspects of the Coors Brewery including their malting, brewing and packaging process.

Golden, Colorado

Golden, Colorado, founded in June of 1859 during the golden rush, is nestled within the Foothills of the majestic Rocky Mountains. Location of the Territorial Capital from 1862-1867, Golden is well known for the “Howdy Folks Welcome to Golden” arch that spans across Washington Avenue as well as being the home to the Coors Brewery and the Colorado School of Mines.

Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre

At an elevation of 6,450, Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre is a “geological phenomenon” and the only “naturally-occurring, acoustically perfect amphitheater in the world”.  The amphitheater’s giant sandstone walls were formed approximately 280 million years ago, but it didn’t open as a concert venue until June 15, 1941.  Seating 9,525; concert goers get a unique concert experience in an exceptional open- air environment.
